Hey Everyone,
It's me again. I am having SEVERE anxietys about having a splint put into my mouth, B/c I have TMJ. I am at a young age, where I would like to look good at all times. I don't want to have to deal with a HUGE piece of metal in my mouth, On the internet I have been looking up splints and there are horrid pictures of metal contraptions. I would rather have braces (at least I know what They look like) but I do not want to become a social outcast because of my metal factory in my mouth. Please help me, direct me to a websight where I can look up splints and what they ACTUALLY look like...and also, I have perfect teeth, and everytime my jaw opens to wide, it dislocates. I know there are many types of splints but please don't just look, respond quicky, I have no where else to talk to.

Gee, I think most dentist make the clear plastic splints and they are not that noticable. I would talk to your dentist. Good Luck.
