HI, I broke my fibula playing football on saturday. The doc says i need screws and plate in my lower fibula. He put me in a cast and crutches, I put my foot elevated but have a lot of pain when i put my foot down(feels like blood rushing down my leg). I never had surgery before and i would to know what to expect after getting this kind of surgery and if i would still get pain when I put my foot down.

The surgery will help alot, but you will still need 6-8 weeks worth of physical therapy afterwards. Please take the therapy seriously and you will be back to your old self by fall playing football.
