Has anyone ever heard of someone having difficulty breathing and a rapid heart rate from an injured vagus nerve. If so, how does one injure this nerve? I have arthritis. I am at a loss trying to figure out what is happening. Could severe arthritis cause damage to this nerve?

I don't know anything about injuring the cagus nerve, but I remember hearing the term when I was disanosed with SVT, which is when your heartrate increases for no reason.
Sorry I can't be of much help, but maybe suggest SVT to your doctor.
