Hello,
I'm concerned about my Boyfriend. He has had 2 boils(which isn't many)that I'm aware of since we've been together. The first was on his knee this latest one is on his butt.I read where Boils are more common in men than women primarily from infected hair follicles and are usually on the neck, waist, buttocks and thights but what really causes them?I was always told by my old-fashioned wive taled Mother and Grandmother Boils are a sign of bad/poor Blood but it couldn't be Anemia because men have stores of Iron even if they are low.Could he be more of a Staph carrier? He is clean, healthy and doesn't use drugs.

My dad gets big boils on different parts of his body just as you described, he takes oral medication from his dermatologist... Maybe your b/f should look into that, I get them too... its herediatry, mine aren't as bad and they are usually located in my ears YUCK or neck.

Thanks Kara,
It concerns me because I'm afraid he has Diabetes or something. He takes Antibiotics for them too.He hasn't had to have them lanced they burst on their own(thank goodness).I have had a few Boils nothing pleasant about them.
