just thought i would pass this on----when you go to spend on something, instead, put that money aside or write the amount you were going to spend and tell yourself that you ARE indeed spending, but you are spending money on buying security...

that only works if the reason you spend is for the feeling of spending as opposed to getting what you want in the moment.

also, those small plastic accordion folders work for me instead of a wallet- i only carry cash divided into sections and spend from that section..making sure to incude some impulse money.

That's a good tip. Checking-out is the worst, because that's where they place the impuse items (candy bars, magazines, etc). They place certain items in certain parts of the store for a reason (believe me, I've worked for a grocery store and a "neighborhood pharmacy"). Also, don't go grocery-shopping on an empty stomache!!! I went for a gallon of milk and came back with $25.00 worth of groceries!
