Now 3+ months post op big toe fusion, walking well, but discovering some unexpected annoyances. One problem, for me, is that my now shorter big toe does not properly fit over the Birkenstock toe bar, so I'm getting some unusual and bothersome wear on the bottom of that toe. Maybe my toe will adjust but I might have to eventually give up on the Birks ... bummer.

I found the same problem after my fusion. I was not able to wear Birks either. I do think it is because we changed the mechanics of our big toe. Wish I had better news for you.
