I'm hoping someone can help my Mom. She is almost 72 years old. I'm not sure if this is all related but I'll mention all her symptoms just in case. First, she has been fighing a fungal toe infection for 2.5 to 3 years. She has been using topical medication on and off and the infection just seems to keep coming back. Lately she has been having terrible pain in her feet. It started on the bottoms of her feet. They got really red and hurt her terribly. It gradually continued and now both feet are affected all over. She gets some relief applying cortizone and soaking her feet in cold water. Her calfs also hurt now. She has been to the foot doctor several times and also her regular doctor. Her foot doctor just prescribed Penlac for fungus and that does not seem to do anything. Her regular doc sent her for vascular studies which were normal. Any ideas what this can be? The only things I can think of is the fungus infection is spreading or maybe arthritis?
