I thought I read somehwere that I shouldn't be taking cylexa with a PPI. Does anyone have GI problems as well as anxiety that has had good experiences taking both.

There is a minor interaction between the two drugs. Using both can result in elevated levels of the drugs in the body. It's not certain what this can do to the body, but use of both is cautioned.

I have been taking zoloft and a PPI since 1999 with only a minimal weight gain of 65 pounds. However, I was told it was not dangerous to take both.

The same interaction doesn't occur with Zoloft and Nexium.

Plus, it's not "dangerous," but it's something that needs to be watched to make sure everything is being metabolized properly. Most people have no problems at all, but the possibility of a problem is there.

I have been taking the two together for 5 weeks now. If I have gone this far and nothing really serious has happened it should be safe to say that I can continue taking both...right?

anti depressants need stomach acid to metabolize. PPI's take away the necessary acid, rendering the anti-depressant useless.
