A few quick questions. I rarely ever get sunburns but today I went outside for a few hours, even though it was cloudy today, my lower back and shoulders got burned!!! :blob_fire I put aloe vera on it but I don't think it's helping. Is there anything else I can do to relieve pain and redness? How about taking a tylenol, would it be effective? Does anyone think I should cover my back while its healing or expose it, maybe more oxygen would let it heal faster (of course I would be indoors)? One last thing how do I keep from starting to peel? Thanks...any advice would help, I don't know much about treating burns!!

Lanacane is pretty good for sunburns. It is an anesthetic and antiseptic. It helps with the pain too!! Goodluck!!

If you know of any tanning salons in the area, check them out and see if they carry the "California Tan" line (it's one of the most popular lines) and see if they sell the product called "Insurance" by California Tan, it's an after-burn lotion that's just magical! :)

Insurance by CA tan is awsome and smells great too , before you put anything on though, i worked in the tanning indusrty and they teach you to fill a bath with cool water and get in for twenty minutes then get out for a while back in for twenty minutes etc...... do this for the first day to get the heat out of your skin , then put on a after burn solution, putting lotion or aloe on first just keeps the heat trapped in your skin and it will take longer to feel relief
it works i know , no matter how tan you are you can still get burned
(i hate learning lessons the hard way)
P.S.
also if you go to a tanning salon to get Insurance there is and after tan lotion cal tan sells called Total Immersion its an after tan lotion that lets you tan last longer and prevents peeling, if your a person who likes to tan never use any soap or lotion with mineral oil in it (it practically bleaches out your tan)
