About two days ago I have had pain in the back of my foot that does not allow me to walk easily, pain in my knuckles and swelling of hands and feet. It has gotten better, but still lingers. It is mostly in the back of my feet, hands and knees. Sometimes I get alot of tingling in my hands and arms when I am sleeping. Has anyone ever experiences this? Is this arthritis? I am really scared to be going through such body aches at such a young age. I am only 29.

Hi!! The pain in the back of your foot could be plantar fachitis (sp?). I have recurring pain on the bottom of my heel and that is what I was diagnosed with. Of course, as any western doctor, he tried to prescibe a med (I'm a little anti-med unless absolutely necessary) so I said no thanks.. I tried stretching and wearing comfortable shoes, and that has helped plenty.

As for your tingling and swelling, I get this sometimes too, especially when I am not sleeping on a quality bed. It goes away once you get up and start moving right? What happens is that as we sleep, especially if you're prone to sleeping on your side, the circulation gets cut off in your arms and a little swelling and tingling result in your hands..I've noticed it significantly in my poor little pinky finger. I go for regular massage therapy and he does a great job at working out the toxins that build up in the joints; my therapy is usually concentrated on my upper back area.. Maybe that would be something for you to consider?

And I can't stress enough...a comfortable bed. Sleep is soOO important, but what is more important is quality sleep. If you don't have a good bed, make the investment. There is really something to be said about waking up and all of your muscles are like jello.

No one but your Doctor can tell you if you have Arthritis, sweetie. You need to go to your Doctor for a physical.
Yes, you are really young but arthritis affects all ages.
