I worked in the tanning industrty and they teach you to fill a bath with cool water and get in for twenty minutes then get out for a while back in for twenty minutes etc...... do this for the first day to get the heat out of your skin , then put on a after burn solution, putting lotion or aloe on first just keeps the heat trapped in your skin and it will take longer to feel relief
it works i know , no matter how tan you are you can still get burned
(i hate learning lessons the hard way)
P.S.
also if you go to a tanning salon to get Insurance ( a great after burn solution, miracle worker sold by California tan) there is and after tan lotion cal tan sells called Total Immersion its an after tan lotion that lets you tan last longer and prevents peeling, if your a person who likes to tan never use any soap or lotion with mineral oil in it (it practically bleaches out your tan)

always see a doctor if you are not sure of the severity
