Hey everyone! I have been reading this board a lot lately and just signed up to post a message today. On July 14, I am having rhinoplasty and liposuction of the abdomen. I am really excited for both. Dr. Aston has an amazing reputation, and I'm very confident in him after seeing the facelift he did on a relative. He was very knowledgable, and I felt extremely comfortable with him. I am having him reshape my nose to make it narrower and more feminine. I don't like the bump on the bridge, and I have a huge cartilidge tip. My stomach has fat pads that just won't go away, despite my recent 20 pound weight loss on Weight Watchers. I just wanted to tell everyone that I'm doing it and see if anyone had any words of wisdom or advice. I'm a little nervous about the recovery and pain. I'll update you as I recover, and check your messages (and hopefully replies) constantly throughout the experience. Please give me a little encouragement; I'm getting scared!
Thanks!

Dr. Aston did my rhinoplasty about 7 years ago. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I absolutely love my new nose. It's feminine without being too cute. It's the nose I had before I got "the nose" my dad has. Dr. Aston changed my life because my self confidence has grown so much. Right after I got the bandages off I was pretty upset, and a little freaked out, but as soon as the swelling went down I loved it. P.s. I also have a bit of a tummy even though I'm slim every where else and was considering going back to Dr. Aston for liposuction. Please keep me posted as to how that went, and how much did he charge you for it?

Hey, cake! When I read your reply I felt as though I was reading what I was thinking. When I first got my bandages off, I was devastated. I felt ugly and so disappointed. Only three days later, yesterday, I felt like a different person. The swelling went down quickly, and I absolutely LOVE my new nose. I completely agree with you. It looks just like the nose I had when I was younger, what it SHOULD have developed into instead of my dad's schnoz, haha. I am so excited about my profile, I constantly rub the bridge to make sure it's not a dream. I am just so thrilled that I went through with it, although I'm still in the process of getting used to it (it was only 8 days ago)!
The stomach...well I should tell you that before the surgery I could probably fit a size two or four, so I definitely wasn't fat, but I had fat that wouldn't go away on my stomach. This had bothered me for a very long time, especially after having lost 20 pounds and seeing NO difference in my waistline. I had suction of the abdomen and waist, and it cost $5000. I guess everyone's idea of a good price is different. I mean, the fat pads and indentation they used to create are definitely gone, and my stomach is flatter. I would say that it was worth the surgery and the money, but is definitely only worth it for YOU if you will keep the weight off. Lipo gets rid of fat you can't, and that will never come back. But if you get lazy with losing weight, lipo isn't the answer because you can quickly reverse its effects.
Sorry this is so long. Overall message, cake: Go for the lipo: It's worth it, and I'm assuming since you know Aston, you are aware that his work is outstanding. Thanks for responding, please write back!
