I have an uncomfortable gnawing sensation (not really a pain) when my stomach gets empty. I don't feel sick, just a gnawing sensation. It is fine after I eat, but I think I digest food quickly & within an hr. this comes back. It sometimes gets to the point where I will eat anything to get rid of it. Even a cracker or 2 helps. It is a scary feeling. This has been going on for about 6 months. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I just posted something similar
http://www.healthboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=303733
Mine started after taking asprin for a few days.
Im pretty sure it has something to do with the pills, because
one other time last year I was on asprin/Excedrin for a few days for
something and I had this same feeling afterwards....

That's a very common symptom of an ulcer - I'd get checked out, they are very easily cured these days.

Acid reflux is most likely the problem. Try taking something to reduce the acid and see if that helps.

Sounds like my problem too. I get a gnawing feeling too and usually a big chicken sandwich from Sonic fixes it. Sometimes bananas help my gnawing? (Or make them worst one whch is always the case with me & bananas?)..I know I read coconut juice is good for gastroitis? But have yet to try it. If you find out your problem maybe I'll know mine too...
