I have a surgery date scheduled for Aug. 21 to go from a size 34A to 34DD. I am getting unders. Does anyone know what kind of recovery time I will need afterward? I am going to make reservations to stay in a hotel because I will be in a different city than the one I live in. I was thinking about 5 days and then I drive home. Does that seem like enough time?
Thanks for any input!

I don't know about the recovery time but I had to respond to this post. I was told that your not suppose to go more then 2 cup size for 1 surgery. Some may go to 3 cups but the general rule is 2. You are going 4 cup sizes. Did your doctor tell you that you have an increase risk of problems? Also, you are very much more then likely to get stretch marks?
Just curious

I might actually be a B cup, I have A and B bras so I'm not real sure. The lady at victoria's secret measured me to be a C cup but I find that hard to believe. I used to have larger boobs but I lost about 35 pounds and along with that my boobs. I already have strech marks on them, so I'm not worried about that. I havent talked to the doctor yet about the size, I will at the consultation. I hope its not a problem because I would really love to be a DD cup.
thanks for the help! Anyone have suggestions about recovery time?

Be prepared to hurt like hell. I am on my second set of implants. The first set were overs (from 34B to 34D) and I was 21 years old. Piece of cake! Had them on a thursday and went out to eat and a movie on Saturday.
At 28 I had to have them replaced due to a rupture. They put them underneath the muscle and I went about 75ccs bigger. OMG, I thought I was going to die...didn't know it was possible to hurt like that. BUT, they told me I had really tight muscles and everyone reacts differently. Age may have something to do with it also (that is what my PS said). Just make sure you have suppositories along with your meds. The meds were so strong they made me sick to my stomach and I have heard alot of girls have the same problem.
But I would do it all again (and I am about to have to...have a rupture). It is worth every bit of discomfort you might have. And please remember that everyone is different...it might a piece of cake just like my first one was.
Good luck with your new additions ;-)

thanks for the help! So you had more pain with you unders because you had tight muscles? Do you think if I worked my pecs this next month mine wouldn't be so tight for the surgery and it would be less painful?
thanks,
Amber

I think if you work out that would make them stronger and tighter and worse on the pain.
Yes, the pain was as a result of being under the muscle. I didn't work out but was small framed and my ps said that my muscles were just tight. Afterwards I also had spasms (muscles were fighting the implants) so do not be alarmed if you feel twitching in your muscles.
And I forgot to say in my last post that I had my unders on a Wednesday and pretty much stayed in bed until Saturday. I was not able to drive a car until Monday.
Are you going to another town to have yours done and staying in a hotel?

Yeah, we are driving 12 hours from our house to get them done. We will stay in a hotel. I am getting them done on a thursday and then I will probably drive home on tuesday after that. My hubby will be there to take care of me the whole time. I know I will be in a lot of pain but I don't know for how long. Can you tell me, when you got the unders, how long did it take them to settle before they looked normal? I am also worried about being able to exercise with DD boobs. Is it difficult?
thanks

I had unders done when I was 21 yrs old....I went from an AA to very full C. My recovery was very easy.....I also know others that went to the same dr and they all had hardly any pain either so I have to wonder if it depends on how rough the dr is with you.
I didn't even need narcotics...My chest just felt very heavy. Good luck!

Amber,
Okay, that is good...your husband will be doing the driving. I would say that it took me about 4 months to drop completely. But keep in mind that I had really tight muscles (I dont know why I have tight muscles...) But I would say that a good time frame for unders to see final results would be 3 to 6 months. I was 29 when I had my unders put in (had to have my overs removed and put the new ones back in 6 months later.) My unders I was on percocet and needed suppositories for the nausea.
With my overs it was a piece of cake. I took Tylenol with codene the first day and nothing thereafter because I didn't have any major pain. I was 21 when I had my first set done.

I had my boobs enlarged almost a year ago. I went from a 32A to a 32C. I also went under. The Dr. said I had a lot of chest muscle since I work out and I may be a bit more sore than normal. However, I wouldn't recommend going as large as you are saying. I know the feeling of wanting bigger boobs, but you don't want them to overpower you either. Eventually I will get mine redone and probably go to a large C but that's it. I think that your recovery time will be a bit longer than 5 days, and you really should have someone with you. My husband had to bath me the first couple of days and did everything for me. Either way good luck!

Thanks for the help, ladies. My husband will probably have to do everything for me. I really want DD and I know if I spend $5000 on size C or D I will just regret it later. I think it will look good for my frame type. I am not super skinny or anything and I am pretty tall so I don't think they will overpower me. How long did it take before you could go back to work? Is is harder to exercise with implants?
thanks for the feedback.

I went to work a few days later but my husband was able to come to work and help me out. I work at a tanning salon so the work is not that hard. As far as excercising... my Dr told me not to really excercise for about 2 months. I really would give yourself atleast a month before you go back to the gym. I would stick to going on walks.

Hey Girls,
I had implants about 8 years ago...Seriously, it was a piece of cake! I felt fine the next day. The only thing that hurt was doing the "exercises" that my doctor recommended. That consisted of moving the implants around with the palm of your hand to reduce any potential scarring. I think I had to do that for a week or two. I had them under the muscle which is supposed to be the most painful....But I was totally fine. Best decision I've ever made!
