I am wondering if any of you know where I may find a chart online about the benefits of not smoking. The healing process the body goes through week by week etc... My husband quit smoking last week and he mentioned seeing something and wanted to know where to find it. He stopped mainly for himself, but also because we are expecting our first child and I didn't want to have my baby grow up around smoking, neither did he. I appreciate the help :)

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!! :bouncing: if my husband could do it all of you can and when you do will be able to enjoy everything so much more! (Not to mention save some $$ :))
Congrats to those of you who have been doing so well!!

It this what you are looking for, Natasha?

The moment you quit smoking, your body starts the healing process! After:

8 hours - nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in your blood reduce by HALF and oxygen levels return to normal.

24 hours - carbon monoxide leaves your body. Your lungs start to clear out mucus.

48 hours - nicotine has gone. Your taste and smell will greatly improve. Think how great that sizzling steak is going to taste now!

72 hours - breathing becomes easier. Your bronchial tubes relax and energy levels increase. Suddenly that work out at the gym doesn't sound so bad after all does it?

12 - 12 weeks - your circulation improves.

3 - 9 months - coughs, wheezing and breathing problems improve as your lung function is increased by up to 10 percent.

One year - you have done it! And guess what? Your risk of a heart attack FALLS to HALF that of a smoker. Aren't you glad you gave up?

10 years - risk of lung cancer falls to half of that of a smoker.

15 years - risk of heart attack falls to that of someone who has NEVER smoked!

Congrats to your DH for choosing to stop smoking!
I quit 132 days ago, and am very proud of myself!!
There are a couple of excellent quit smoking support sites online
that I found very helpful.
Please let me know if you would like me to post them.
