Water does not contain enough calcium to make it your only source for the mineral.

It depends where you live, and how your water is treated. Hard water tends to contain more calcium than soft water.

Adults need at least 700mg of Calcium a day. Hard water might contain up to 200mg, but soft water contains virtually none.

I am not sure what the normal amount should be in water or bottled water. Much will depend on the location of the water. Some areas will have more calcium than others.

Bottled water will have calcium naturally also.

Better to check with the water dept. in your city to find out how much is in the city water. You can call the bottled water company and find out about their water.

Calcium in water is natural, just a matter of how much.

Some people who have kidney stones will do better if they do not drink city water in a heavy limestone area. My daughter drinks distilled water to avoid another kidney stone attack. Not sure that is the healthy to go but at least she is not having kidney stones due to the limestone in her area.
