I know I ask a lot of questions but some of this stuff is all new to me.
We are going to be going away next month and traveling by car. For those of you that are bottle feeding, how do you heat up bottles when you go out? I have been buying the glass ones that you add nipples to but they cost so much. I also bought a car bottle warmer and it takes over 5 minutes to heat a bottle and that is way to long for DS to wait. Also if you are going out anywhere how do you pack bottles and how do you heat them?

Are you BF'ing? If so, that's a trick I haven't figured out yet! Those warmers take forever. If you are formula feeding (I'm doing about half and half breastmilk and formula), I just take bottled water and leave it in the warmest place in the car so it stays warm (like in the back window or something! LOL. Sounds strange, but it works!) and carry powder formula with me. Those single serving packets are SOOOOOOO handy. A life saver on trips. So I just put the car warm water in the bottle, add the powder, and shake. It's not quite as warm as body temp, but my little picky princess will take it, so it must be warm enough.

I am only bottle feeding, so it is formula I am working with here. :)

I just got back from a trip and all I did was keep the bottles in the diaper bag and they stayed nice and warm. I don't use a warmer. I buy bottled water (Nursery) is the brand so it's always nice and warm. As for formula I just took the can and when we went out I made enough bottles and scooped the formula in my formula carrier. You know the ones that have sections so you can take more then on bottle? That's all I needed.

Bottles don't always have to be really warm. Most babies won't mind it being room temperature. In the summer I sometimes make DD bottle a little on the cool side to cool her down. Give your little one a few bottles at room tempurature before the trip and see how he does with it. I carry a small tupperware container with formula powder and a bottle of water in my diaper bag.

Thanks, We have been giving him ready mixed formula out of a can and I just switched to powder to see how it goes. I also bought bottled water put out by Gerber to mix it with. So I will try room temp and see what he thinks. Also I am going to have find the Nursery bottled water. i did get single serve packets.
