I don't like what caffeine does to the body so I never had coffee or any sodas throughout my pregnancy (but I didn't drink those beforehand). However, I did get some serious chocolate cravings and succumbed to them sometimes. The caffeine levels in chocolate are minimal compared to coffee; I think I read that it takes 10 Hershey's Chocolate bars to equal the caffeine in 1 cup of coffee.

I know that you shouldn't drink coffee while your pregnant. I have heard one cup a day is ok but why even do it if you can go without it. Ocassionaly I would enjoy a soda with caffeine. I had morning sickness past the first trimester and it settled my stomach. But even then I only had a few the entire time I was pregnant, better safe than sorry.

I had a cup of coffee every morning, but whenever I didn't NEED to finnish it I didn't, I'd only drink 1/2 or so most days. Like Besafe said, it may not hurt, but better safe than sorry.
