DarkChange 07-16-2005, 05:41 PM Hey I dont know if this is exactly tinnitus but sometimes I get these sudden "beeeeeeeeeeep" kind of noises in my right ear that last for about 5 seconds...what is this and is it normal??? Im 17 by the way and a male. Sponsor Crazymotorbiker 07-19-2005, 10:04 PM I suffer from the same thing. I'll be sat there when all of a sudden i get a high putch like beeeeeeeepppp in my ear and things sound different till it goes, this loud beeeeepppp usually lasts about a minute then fades back down to my normal tinnitus level, a low hiss. Its not nice and i just relate it to the damge i've done with motorbikes, concerts etc. I wear earplugs now, even for hoovering!!! sounds stupid but i recon its worth it in the long run. It could also be related to my hayfeaver/stuffy noise, but i don't know and the ENT's are about as useful as a chocolate tea pots. Shaun. MMS1 07-20-2005, 10:46 AM To Crazymotorbiker, Just curious. I read on an earlier post you left that you found total relief from your tinnitus from using "Vinpocectine" after reading another poster's success on it. Does your recent post mean the "Vinpocectine" did'nt work? I've had horrible tinnitus since February when I suffered a "sudden hearing loss "! Nothing I've tried as far as these natural help remedies have given me any relief. I've read alot about Ginko Biloba helping alot with these problems. However, I've been on Ginko for three months now and it does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Alpha Lipoic Acid has also been recommended for hearing disorders. I've tried it also for three months,,, USELESS!! After reading your post on this Vinpocectine working for you (as well as the other poster) I went out and bought some. I've been using it for two weeks now. About half a week ago I noticed the horrible ringing I'd have through the day, had decreased significantly for three days! Before using this I would have days where the ringing would start out not to bad but continuously grow in intensity throughout the day untill it would be UNBEARABLE by evening. However, for the three days that I had significantly reduced ringing while I was on the Vinpocectine, the ringing did'nt increase through the day and I started feeling I found a cure!! WRONG! The day after this three day period of semi-relief, I woke up to loud Screeching and the same old, same old!!! I've had another day since where the ringing was'nt bad, but later in the day it got a little worse. Therefore, I believe the relief I got for those few days could have MAYBE been because of the Vinpocectine or it could have been nothing to do with it,, just a coincidence!! All these supplements (Vinpocectine, Ginko Biloba, Alpha Lipoic Acid) give a list of things they are good for, as long as your arm!!! They say they help with Diabetes, Memory, Blood Circulation in the Brain, Vision, Ear disorders, headaches, immune system, vitamin deficiancy, as well as dozens of other cures they "SUPPOSEDLY" help!! I guess the "Clue" here is,, how can one pill help in SO MANY AREAS when they have'nt found any pill yet that can do what it's supposed to in just ONE AREA with success?!? It's all a bunch of Crap, in the end! kittyfairie 07-26-2005, 06:04 AM I have sudden tinnitus too, I could hardly sleep last night because of the beeping and ringing in my ears. This has been on and off for a few weeks. I don't have exposure to any overly loud sounds, very very rarely if ever. jrhafer 07-30-2005, 09:05 AM To MMS1, I have been reading your posts for the past day and can only say how I can relate to your suffering. I know exactly what you are going through. I have gone and am going through the same things as you for the past 18 years. For me, over the years, things would settle down and I would think that I was actually going to be OK, only to have the tinnitus change or start a new sound, and then the process of suffering would start all over again. I my case, an MRI found that I have Acoustic Neuroma, a tumor in the auditory area that affects hearing, and causes tinnitus and hearing loss. After 3 years of watching this tumor to see if it was growing, and it was slowly, I finally last week had radiation (Cyberknife) treatment for it. The one thing I was hoping would NOT happen did, that is, my tinnitus got much worse after it. Now, in addition to the ringing, and buzzing, I also have a lound high frequency sound, much like what comes from the back of a television high voltage rectifier. It is so loud that I can hear it even driving down the road at 60 mph with the windowns opened. So, as with so many, I have taken a major step backwards. If this will help you and I hope it does, - tinnitus always seems to settle down and in time will be better. I feel that anxiety does play a major role in tinnitus and that until your anxiety level goes down, the tinnitus will be aggrevated. And I know, we all ask, how can we stop this anxiety. After all, we have this unknown noise going on and our brain keeps saying what is this? I still feel that yours, in time, will stabilize, and you will eventually learn to deal with it. Believe me - I know EXACTLY what you are going through! Let me know if you have any questions or need more information. John |
