For the past two weeks Ive had this cough that sounds sort of like a "bark" and when I exhale I can hear this crackling sound like I want to cough up something. I rarely cough up phlem but when I do its yellowish and kind of thick like pudding (sorry I know its gross) Ive tried cold, sinus, and allergy otc meds. and nothing works. I dont like going to the doctor, I only go when Im dieing. Any ideas of what this is? :confused: Is there anyway to treat it without going to the doctor?

You could have bronchitis or worse pneumonia. Do you have any chest pain with the cough.
If it is bronchitis it may go away eventually (3-4 weeks) or you might need antibiotics. If you are having trouble breathing and pain it could br pneumonia and that would certainly need antibiotics. If it keeps up better go to DR>
