I began my shopping and when it came to bottles i am getting stumped.

1st question - what is the difference between the ones with the disposable liners and the one that is tilted on an angle?

2nd question - in the beginning what size bottles do the baby need i think it's 4 ounze but how often are they feeding? At what point do you switch to 8 ounze.

3rd question - how many diapers a day do you go through the first few weeks? i heard that it is about 10. Does this amount ever go down?

My first suggestion is NOT to buy a whole set of bottles untill you little on is here and can tell you what he/she likes! I made that mistake and ended up wasting so much money, because my DD only liked the plain old walmart brand bottles. She refused to drink from any of the "I paid a fortune because they were they best you could buy" bottles. I wouldn't worry too much about 4 oz bottles. A few are good to have because a 8 oz just looks so big, but it doesn't really matter the size of the bottle, only what's in it ;) Some of my friend swore that their babies got more air with an 8oz bottle, but I never noticed a difference at all.

As for Diapers, I went through 10-15 a day at first. Newborns poop a lot! lol. Now I go through 7-10 and my DD is 18mo. Probably only change less now because it's not always worth the fight :P

I absolutely agree with Worried. Some babies can be VERY particular about which bottle they will or will not take.

Personally, I prefer the drop in nursers, less to clean. You only have to wash the nipples really. The tilted ones that vent means you have to wash that whole bottle part where the formula/milk goes in, ick, I hate to wash bottles.

I also noticed no difference in how much air the baby got with a 4 oz v. an 8 oz. My babies all were up to 6-8 oz by the 2nd month, so I only bought 2 4 oz, then kept them for juice later on.

I also breast feed too.

Have fun gettin' ready for the baby!

Hi, I prefer the bag liners, the drop in ones still leak and you can't get all the air out. Now the 4 oz you can use a while they usually eat every 2 -4 hours in the beginning and start with 2 oz and work their way up. After they are drinking more than 4 oz you can switch to the 8 oz bottles for the milk/formula. And use the 4 oz for juice. There are different nipples and I got a couple of each, and my son did fine with both (he just wouldn't breastfeed.), but I preferred one to the other so got more of that kind. I was lucky and had the actual bottles, rims and caps given to me, didn't have to buy any. And just bought the nipples and bag liners. (walmart brand bags work just as well and cost half as much). Good luck.

Yes the amount of diapers they use do drop. Don't worry! Just don't go opening a bunch so if its getting close you can exchange the size if you need too.
