The tip of my next to the little toe got severed by firewood in March. I went to the ER when it happened, they cleaned it and wrapped it, and made me an appointment the next day to a bone Dr. I go see the bone Dr. the next day, they cauterized the toe, and the Dr. tells me it will grow back. It has been almost 5 months and it is growing back. The tip is still coming in and the toenail is starting to grow back. I was on crutches for 2 Months and then a hard soled boot for 2 months. I have just started wearing shoes again, have a hard time finding something comforable yet. I still haven't got the bending movement back yet, it is still affected. Can bend my foot and toes about 1/2 way, verses the other foot. Wondering if anyone else has had this happen, and can share their experience.

Hi, I did not have anything like this happen, however, my sister lost the tip of her little toe. It was amputated due to an infection. It did grow back (I am amazed) and even a new toe nail as well (somewhat - shape is a little odd). However, it never has been able to bend, and it's been years since this happened.
