I've just been through the most difficult 2 weeks...first constipated, then diarreha and then normal and then the cycle starts all over again. Doc told me years ago I had ibs but it always leaned toward the D side; constipation is a foreign state for me.
My question is, aside from the bad gas and cramps and horrid pain it causes, do any of you find that it takes your body a couple days or so to recover? I finally yesterday had several large bm's with large size deposits and today I woke up feeling much better, but still a bit off. Not sick, but just kinda not normal feeling if that makes sense. Ate normally and stools today were relatively normal. And, is it possible to be constipated and not get it all out for a week or so but still have smaller bm's inbetween?
Geez, I hate this!
Thanx for the replies,
Conni

Conni,

Constipation can be caused by the food you eat as well as medications of all types, and stress as well!!

To have normal BMs -- you need to intake fiber -- both soluble and insoluble types-- 25 to 35 grams daily.

Once your system gets out of balance -- it can take some time for it to become normalized again -- and we all react differently!! I guess because of our genes and what we eat and drink daily.

I wish you well---Harry
