View Full Version : Is there anyway I can "relactate?

My DD was barely nursing at all, and I was fed up with pumping with my DS running around. She had started preferring the bottle and wouldn't have any patience with the boob. So I was mainly only pumping when I was engorged and slowly letting my milk dry up. Well, this morning, she was spitting out the bottle and rooting around for the boob. So I offered it, and she latched right on and nursed contentedly. The problem now is I barely have any milk left. I would like to continue nursing. But it's either nursing or formula for me. No more pumping. Is there anyway I can get my milk back? I can only pump 1 oz from BOTH sides when I just sit down and randomly pump. Is it too late?

No as long as your still producing you should be ok but you should nurse every time she cries for as long as possible to bring you supply back.also drink lots of water

You may want to consider pumping just to get your supply back. Try every 2 hours for 15 min. on each breast. Even if nothing comes out, go for the whole 15 minutes. This will tell your body to start producing more milk. There is also some vitimin I have heard of...I think it's called "Mothers Milk" not sure of the exact name. I heard that will really help with the supply.
