I have a question.......At your six week checkup did your Dr check you and do an exam? Today I had my 6 week CU and my Dr just talked to me in his office and mostly just about if I wanted to go onto BC. I know with my DS my Dr did check me. Then he told me to come back in November for a pap smear even though I am due for one in Sept. I love my Dr but that seemed weird.

I just went today for my 6 week checkup ( 5 weeks late) and I had an internal exam. She also did a breast check. I turned down the bc, and she also asked me if I had any depression. I was told to go back in 2 months, which will be 20 weeks after birth, for the pap, and complete physical.

It seems a little strange to me. Usually they do an exam to make sure your uterus is going back to normal size. Hmmmm

Not to steal anyone's post here, but I have an appointment next week for mine and I was wondering what they did at the 6 six week cu. I never went to the dr before being pg and then I had a c-section. I am not big on the hands on stuff so what is the internal exam all about. Sorry to steal your post, but my dr said they would be doing one at my appointment.

It's OK you didn't steal my post. With my DS my DR checked my breasts and he felt my stomach to make sure my uterus was back to size and they went ahead and did an internal exam. But the only difference with my six week cu back then was I had over 150 stitches so they wanted to make sure I was healing properly. I was just actually shocked that my DR yesterday didn't even feel on my stomach to check my uterus nor did he check my breasts. I really thought he'd do an internal because I tore with my DD too. I don't know makes me worried (I am a worrywart BTW). The only thing I came out with from the Dr office was ANOTHER UTI. @@ UGH!

I had an exam to make sure everything was healing like it should be. We also talked about BC and depression.
