Hi there.. I had reconstructive surgery on my nose last week. I had a horriable slop to my nose due to years of drug abuse and physical violence. (Clean now over 4 years) "Severe Saddle Nose Diformity." My Dr. suggested Med-por Implant. I researched and found out very little about the product. Type of surgery to new to find much info. I went ahead and did it anyway. It is now 9 days post surgery. My nose looks really good. Although, I seem to see a slight imperfection. It looks and feels like to the right of my nose by my eye I can feel the implant. Like it was put in the wrong place a little! My Dr. says there is still swelling. Am I suppose to expect perfection when getting a reconstructed nose? What would you do in my situation? Should I tell the Dr. I am not happy with the results? When the swelling goes down all the way I am afraid everyone will see the imperfection. My nose was so messed up before I don't want a new nose that is messed up too! Please leave feedback.. any would help. Also... Anyone ever even hear of Med-por implants for use on the face?

Thanks so much!!!

Hi, my adivce to you is take a picture right away. Then go back to your Dr. and ask to have a copy of the "before shot" take it home and compare. Ask yourself, was the pain worth another try. If your answer if yes, then by all mean go back to the Dr. and tell him yor not happy. I asked for a rhinoplasty (nose job) with my sinus surgery, when they did it I waited for the six months swelling to go down, went back to my Dr. and said, "It doesn't look like you did anything" His response, "If your not happy let's do it again" I didn't get charged.

Good luck, and don't settle for second best! No plastic surgeon would! Why should you!

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to have to wait til the 6 months pass. My dr. is telling me that I might have swelling that long. As for having it done again. I would have to. I really expected to be totally satisified with my surgery. Went to a top Dr. I also wouldn't have to pay for any revisions. Thanks again for your imput.. T111racy
