Hi...I am 35 yrs old and had silicone (McGhann) implants placed behind the muscle about 14 yrs ago.

I am having a little achiness and some sternum pain...and my dr is having me get a breast ultrasound and a mammogram.

I am nervous about the pain of the mammo, I have heard some say it hurts and other no...is it any different with implants?

Any experiences would be appreciated...thanks

(I'm surprised I am the first to reply to this.) hmf.

well... I had saline 18yrs ago.
first mammo about 5 yrs ago.
mine on top of the muscle .. under breast tisssue.

It was slightly uncomfortable. Tell them you have implants ( like I did) I don't think they will mash em as hard if you tell them ( ? ) good luck.

Well, it was done today and it was not that painful, she said with implants, they don't compress as hard.

My implants are completely intact, no rupture, leaking etc....hooray!

and my breast tissue looked great too, I got a clean bill of health...what a relief :)
