Heya! I have a few questions about the 18mo check-up for those who have been there. When my DD was 9mo we moved to a new province and she has only been to the Drs to have her shots or if she was sick. She has only been weighed twice since we got here also. I'm not worried about it so much. I know my DD is a happy, healthy lil girl. Anyway yesterday I took her for her 18mo needle and her Dr is still away on maternity leave, so they asked it I wanted to take her to the clinic Ped for a once over instead. I said of course! They made me an appointment for 2 weeks from now. I want to take full advantage of this appointment since she hasn't seen a Ped since we moved. The thing is, everytime I go to the Dr, I forget everything I wanted to ask :P So I thought I'd write a list of questions for him, lol. I was just wondering what concerns are just around the corner for me for me to ask him. What is he going to be looking for? What happens at the 18mo check-up? And here in Canada there is a new vaccine out for free, it's for meningitis and chickenpox and somethingican'tremember. Does anyone know much about this? I'm reluctant to give my lil one anything *new* on the medical scene. What about her 18mo needle? Is that just the same reactions as all the others? Her 2mo needle she had a high fever and irritable for 2 days after, but the rest right up untill her 12mo didn't bother her. Her 12mo she had the fever and felt yucky again. Will the 18mo one be the same?
Sorry for the bombarding questions, it's just that her Dr never does more then poke her with a needle, weigh her and leave. I'd like to be able to talk to someone about a few things. I asked to see a Ped here before because DD saw one back home,(she was a preemie and still is really small for her age) but the Dr said there was no need.
