Hi,
I just need (and hope for) some reassurance here.
I've had hemorroid problems on and off for almost 10 years. If I get a flare up, it's a flare up! Usually thrombosed hemorroid. If I don't pamper it and baby it for days, it will swell to the point of excruciating pain and eventual rupture. That's only happened twice and I've learned the hard way not to get that far.
Anyway, this morn. I had a bm and felt a terrible scratch or tear. It's been really hot here and I think I'm a little dehydrated. I thought no biggy, I've had this before and expected to see some blood on the toilet paper. But instead there was red blood in the water. Maybe the equivalent of a drop or two. I don't know why, but I was terrified! No blood in the stool just on it and in the water.
I have a history of hemorroids that can be severe at times. I had a sigmoidoscopy 4yrs ago for pain and the doc. found some slight proctitis. How worried should I be? Normally it wouldn't bother me, but it was just a little more blood than I've had before. Also, I had one of those really bad hemorroid attacks a few months ago. It took 3 wks before I got it totally go down. Maybe the hard stool tore that vein since it was affected so badly a few months ago?
Just looking for some advice and hopefully help me not to worry about this.
Thanks!!

Please, can anyone offer some insight?
I've been reading and it sounds like it could be a fissure from the last few days of hard stools. Does this sound like what I have?
