I have BiPolar Disorder and being on the pill (I've started out on Nordette over a year ago, but after two months quickly changed it because it made me unbelievably depressed and gained weight like crazy). So for the last year I've been on Ortho-Tricycline Lo. Its been ok, accept for the 10 lb. weight gain and still having rapid mood cycling. My doctor thinks if I was off the pill I would have a more grasp on myself. But what else is there to do? I'm allergic to latex, get yeast and bacterial infections easily, and have a mood disorder.... What else is there?? I'm so desperate. I could always not have intercourse, but then that would make my moods cycle even more sometimes *L* Anyone have any suggestions?

You can learn about "fertility" and monitor when you're ovulating and when you're not..its called the rytham method. It has no side effects. WITH IT, you can use spermicidal vaginal foam ( a spermicide) about 90% effective along with the pull out method.

There is a brand of condoms, I can't remember which but I'm sure you can find them in any drugstore that sell polyurethane condoms, which are designed especially for people that are allergic to latex. They are a little bit more expensive than latex condoms but not much just a couple of dollars and work exactly like latex ones. Don't get these confused with natural lambskin condoms which don't protect against STDs just pregnancy which if you are in a monogamous relationship those would be fine too. So don't worry that you are allergic to latex, because there are other options. Also you may want to consider an IUD which is placed in the uterus because they make one that doesn't put out hormones and you would be the same as before but protected from pregnancy. Good luck just please look into those things for me :)
