Hi,
I'm wondering if any of you can answer a few questions. The symptoms I have fit so many categories and I'm trying to narrow them down. When someone has anxiety "attacks" don't they come and go? I mean you don't just have an attack come on and stay that way, right? (probably sounds pretty stupid to you guys- sorry) My other question is does anxiety ever appear with physical symptoms only, like the tingling and numbness, lightheadedness etc.? Don't those symptoms come along with feeling panic or worry/stress.I'm just wondering if you can actually be experiencing anxiety and not really know it or acknowledge it because you don't feel especially worried or nervous.Last question for any of you that have alot of the physical symptoms, have you had problems with constant muscles spasms and circulation with your arms or legs ? Thanks for any help

Everything you said is true about anxiety. Anxiety can last for minutes, days, weeks, months. It can come and go or it can last the duration. I would have attacks come and go all day long and in between my body would be suffering the consequences of it so I was in a constant state of anxiety for months. You do not necessary have to have an "attack" to be suffering from anxiety. It can just be a constant feeling in your body presenting in many different forms.
It definitely presents itself in physical ways. The muscles and circulation are a definite symptom. It is because you are so tense and do not even realize it. I suffered from anxiety for so long before I would believe that it was anxiety. I am finally on meds and feel so much better.
Below is a list of symptoms I found on a website for the international association for anxiety mangement. I hope it helps you.

Creeping or pins and needles sensations in the skin
Increased sensitivity to light, sound, touch, and smell

Hope it helps you!

HEY!!! It helped me! I am almost in tears as I re-visit this site. My anxiety is back due to getting a divorce and you reminded me that all of this stuff can happen. Husband is getting a little mean and has called me "psycho" more than a few times. It's been a long time, but anxiety seems to be there just when your life starts to fall apart again! I beat it once...I'll do it again.
Anyway, at least you reminded me about this and I can take it as it comes.
Thank you.

Thanks for your reply-
I guess all this time and energy spent reading about everything from Vitamin B deficiency to muscular dystrophy was kind of a waste. I'll get a few blood tests just in case, but I think this may be it. What a wierd disorder , huh? I had absolutely no idea it could cause so many physical symptoms. I was about ready to draw up a will. Thanks
