My DD has been really werid this week. She isn't eating like she normally does. She is normally a really good eater. She will eat anything. Breakfast she does fine at, but lunch and dinner not so good. Just all the sudden this week. I have noticed that between like 3 and 5 she just get really mad. I mean mad. I have also noticed a white spot on her lower gums in the front where she should get her first teeth. I know it doesn't always happen in the order they say. She is almost 11 months old and still no teeth. She is my first baby and i don't what to expect when they are teething. She seems to only get really mad at a certain time. All this week. She is normally a really happy baby. Doesn't cry for anything usually. So when she crys alot then there is something going on. Could this be teething or not? Cause i have thought that she was teething before and that was not the case. This time seems different to me. Usually if you try to feel her gums she gets mad at you and shakes her head. Now she is all about letting you put your finger in her mouth. The drool factor has increased alot and the chewing on everything seems to have increased too. I feel so horrible that i don't know how to help her. I don't want to be giving her oral gel and things if she isn't teething. Anyone have any ideas?

It sounds like teething to me. And at her age she may be having a lot trying to come in at once...not fun. I know you mentioned the teething gel. I always used it when the pain got really bad for DS. I say give it a shot...you'll probably be able to tell what's going on the 1st time you give it to her. She'll most likely hate the taste, but if she calms down almost right away, there's a good chance that teething is the problem. I would also give my son some infants motrin or tylenol before he went to bed at night.

Good luck! DD is just starting to drool a lot and chew on her hands...I know it's right around the corner.

I have given her the oral gel to get her clammed down and let that work until the tylenol kicks in. She seems to clam down when i give her a frozen teething ring too. This is very stressful. What is really bad is that even though i am married and her dad loves her so much. I am pretty much doing this by myself right now. So sometimes i just get really stressed. He is going to school full time, work full time and part time, and the is a reserve office for our city when he isn't doing one of the other three things. So we don't get to seem him alot. Anyways this teething thing just started and i am ready so ready for it to be over with already.

Well she is definelty teething. Last night we were playing with her and my husband let her chew on his finger. When she rub across his finger he could feel a tooth. So i put my finger in her mouth to feel and there is a tooth there. It's not poking through alot, but enough to feel it. I am glad we know what is going on with her now.

My son's behavior is the exact same way when he is teething. When he cut his first tooth I was seriously frightened of him, not knowing why he was behaving that way. My angel becomes a demon! He has 6 teeth now (just popped the last one yesterday) and has gone through this with every one. I've noticed that along with the behavioral change, he would always have a bout of heavy loose stool exactly 2 days before they cut through.

I read this somewhere: "You can't do anything about your child's behavior while teething. The only thing you CAN do, is offer them plenty of things to chew on (the harder the better) to help toughen up the gums, and make the process as quick as possible." It HAS helped. :)

mine is going through the same thing. the oral gel has not been helpful because i think it makes him feel weird. but the tyelonl... that goodness for tyelenol! that is the only thing that calms him down. his bottom tooth are coming in at the same time.
