Hello!

I have a question for the people out there that have had tummy tucks.

Did you have to lose any weight before your surgery? I'm not fat or anything and I'm not using the surgery to lose weight, but I am weighty in my mid-section and I was wondering if I should try to lose a bit more before I go for my consult. I just don't want to waste mine or the surgeon's time if he/she is going to tell me I need to lose weight.

Thanks!

Hi
I've been to a few consults for a TT, and generally they like you to be about 10-20% within your healthy weight range. Some people find it a incentive afterwards to keep their weight down, although it will take you a couple of months to get back into exercising. Personally I'm making an effort to be as healthy as I can before the surgery to give my body the best chance at healing.
hope that helps

I had a TT in January last year. My doc wanted me down to 150 before. I am 5'4. I am glad I did it!! I did loose 12 pounds from the surgery even though I had no lipo and only have 3.5 pounds of fat removed. I am 135 now and stuck!!! I have a feeling my tt is to blame. Loose all you can NOW and the do it. I would try doing Susanne somers diet. go to www.susannesomers.com (http://www.susannesomers.com) Good luck
