View Full Version : What type of Doc for 'Roids'

I've had IBS-C for about 7 years and through many lifestyle changes and meds I've pretty much brought it under control. I've seen a GI specialist for 3 years and I've had every test done imaginable to rule out serious problems. My colonoscopy 2 years ago noted small non-bleeding internal hemorrhoids; I thought nothing of this. I now have an external hemorrhoid as well as my internal one's and it is causing pain. I think this pain has been growing over the years but I never attributed it to 'roids'. What "type" of doctor should I see if OTC meds do not work? I don't think GI doctors do this type of stuff.

Hi, I went to a colon rectal surgeon for my hemorrhoids 12 years ago and just recently. I would say that is your best bet. Twelve years ago I had a hemorrhoidectomy and just recently I had hemorrhoids banded.

I think it is better to go and get it over with and not put up with the annoying pain and irritation! Life is too short to be uncomfortable!
