hi everyone
i started ortho lo about 2 months ago, and i started it the day i got my period (wed.) "first day start". well now i want to be on the sun. start so i don't get my periods over the weekend. my question is, can i start a new pack of pills on sun. while i'm still on the inactive pills? just to get me on the sun. start. i'm not sure if it will screw up my period tho. i thought i read somewhere that its ok, but i'm not 100% sure. thanks! :)

When I took Ortho Tri-Cyclen I changed my start date also. I had Sunday start, but my periods were so long that by the time I actually started my period I had them through the weekend! So I decided to have my start date be Thursday b/c then my periods would start on Monday and be over with by the weekend. My dr told me to just start my pills early. Instead of starting my new pack on Sunday, I'd get them and start them on the Thursday (3 days before I normally would've). However with Ortho Tri-Cyclen I noticed that it took I think 3 cycles to get it to actually start when I wanted to! It was like starting the pill all over again for me. So this was just my luck with it, you might want to ask your dr. what they think :)

According to your post, you'll end your active tablets on Tuesday. So, start your new pack on Sunday. Since it's early, you may spot or skip your period entirely. However, things should work themselves out after a cycle or so.
