Does anyone here experience muscle twitches and aches when anxiety kicks in?

Hey Elda, I have had muscle twitches all over my body ramdonly since I took a bp med (Hydorocht-something) and Zoloft in January. I quit taking them both and I still have this daily. It starts when I first wake up but when I start moving around it quits but when I sit still I might feel a few twitches mostly in my legs. It never does it when I sleep that I am aware of. Drives me crazy my Dr/. dismissed it as anxiety I don't know wish it would stop. Anyone else have this problem??? I've read it is benign falcifacations any imput???Jules :eek:

ive had them plently of times, i also get extreme muscle tension and pain from anxiety, maybe mention a muscle rexelant or some weak nacrotic (sp?). when i was in the hospital i was prescribe Viocidin ASAP for back pain, then Flexeril to ease the muscles.

I never really noticed this until this past Monday. I think I have to have an EXTREME panic attack for this to occur. I was really upset over an imaginal exposure I had to write for CBT, and I was on the verge of tears through Wednesday. I started to see that my hands were shaky as well as my legs, and that my extremities and abdomen would suddenly twitch and jerk me forward. Tres annoying... :rolleyes:

a LOT of the time, when i have anxiety, i get twitchy and achy! I went to see the doc about this a while ago, and he said that basically, when i got anxious, i got tense, and the muscles were under strain causing the aches, and also, the twitchiness is basically the same mechanism as that which causes "shivering" or shakiness in ones hand when nervous! I got *really* worried particularly as when the twitch/ache kicked in - i was suffering health anxiety about having a brain tumor.

As always.... if the symptoms bother you, see your doc, but dont worry yourself sick, let the doc do the worrying for you! thats what they're there for

now.... if only i could take some of my own advice eh?

Zoloft started mine up about 5 or 6 years ago. They got bad, I quit the Zoloft and it got better but never went away completely. It does get worse now when I get stressed out. It really bothers me that a antidepressant started it, but what are you going to do. I also have them all over my body, although they are worse in the legs. I have had a test to make sure it's not some neurological disease. The doctor said it's benign fasciculation syndrome.
