I was doing some research on Ovcon-35 and I came across a site with drug information and it says that these things interfere with my bc:
•antibiotics or medicines for infections, especially rifampin, rifabutin, rifapentine, and griseofulvin
•aprepitant
•barbiturate medicines for producing sleep or treating seizures (convulsions)
•bosentan
•carbamazepine
•caffeine
•clofibrate
•cyclosporine
•dantrolene
•grapefruit juice
•hydrocortisone
•medicines for anxiety or sleeping problems, such as diazepam or temazepam
•medicines for mental depression
•medicines for diabetes, including troglitazone and pioglitazone
•mineral oil
•modafinil
•mycophenolate
•nefazodone
•oxcarbazepine
•phenytoin
•prednisolone
•ritonavir or other medicines for the treatment of the HIV virus or AIDS
•selegiline
•soy isoflavones supplements
•St. John's wort
•tamoxifen or raloxifene
•theophylline
•topiramate
•warfarin

Is this true? Has anyone else heard of caffeine and grapefruit juice interacting with bc?

I've heard of grapefruit juice interacting with the pill, but only that the high amout of vitamin C could up the amout of estrogen in the blood and could possible cause spotting. However, I believe that it was referring to consuming vast amounts of grapefruit juice. As well, I have never seen any conclusive studies proving this.

As to the caffeine, some believe that the birth control pill might increase the effects of caffeine, making a person more "jittery" when they take both the pill and caffeine.
