Hi
A few nights ago I was laying there in bed trying to get to sleep when suddenly I got this mild electrical shock sensation that went completely across the front of my neck from one end to the other. I also get weird twitches where my muscles will jump around and do strange things. I have a few bad vertabrae in my neck but I have also suffered from anxiety/panic for a long time. I am on Lorazepam and Atarax. Can/does anxiety cause these electical/twitchy sensations?. Also, I have periods of time where I feel very weak, fatigued and tired (like a limp dish rag) or my stomach will feel very sensitive.
Thank's - Lonely Traveler

Muscle spasms, twitches, etc seem to affect a lot of people with anxiety, panic and stress disorders so I was just wondering if anyone here could relate to what I described in my above post. Anxiety sure can play with your mind it seems

You're right, muscle spasms, twitches, etc. are common to many anxiety suffers. Everyone has different symptoms, though.
I experience something similar to the neck thing. It's not incredibly frequent, but recurring - maybe a couple of times a month. It happens on one side of my neck, I think it's always the right side, but not sure. It's like a volt of electricity shoots up it. It's brief, but more powerful than just a little static electricity shock or a muscle twitch. Sometimes my neck is a little sore after that. It's really wierd.
I'll also sometimes get little muscle twitches when I'm especially stressed out.

the electric shocks or zaps are fairly common for anxiety sufferers and not to be worried about
