When my 15 yr old son was 1 1/2, he had three sweat tests because he was constantly having diarrhea--like cf kids, oily, stinky, floaty--and he actually had wheezing and freq pnuemonia--failure to thrive.....
anyway, it ended up he had celiac disease. Basically, cd is the inability of the digestive tract to digest gluten...(that's a quick basic def!) so, when we were trying to feed him soy milk etc....he would end up with the upper respitory symptoms such as asthma...and start throwing up...it ends up all the things he couldn't eat due to the celiac--were all the things he was "allergic" to!!!
Anyway, after many years of diets and trials to see which he would tolerate best....he's now a healthy 15 yr old with limitations due mainly only to the asthma- but you would never know!!!
Check with the dr to rule out anything along this line--the celiac or allergies......good luck, I know the road's hard!!
