hi. i just wanted to ask a question. my highschool sweetheart, first boy i loved, recently passed away at the age of 43, from cystic fibrosis. isn't 43 a long time to have survived? i really dont know and would like to. he had four siblings and three of them had CF too. is THAT "normal"?

32 is the AVERAGE age...average being the key word. There are some CFers that are in their 60s(I think theres a few in their 70s,not sure on that one).It also depends on the persons case of CF..
As for siblings, everytime 2 CF carriers give birth there is 25% chance that child will have CF,50% that the child will be a CF carrier, and a 25% chance that the child won't have CF and won't be a carrier.
Hope this helps
