Hi,
I applied for SSI, and oncethey denied me due to my income being over their required limit, I ask for a Demming(sp) waver. I took that letter to Department of Family and Children Services, complete the application, and ask them about a program called Katie Beckett. It will pay up to $1500/mo for medical expenses.
Also, drug companies have programs to help pay for medicines and is based on income. My son has been on a program called Children's Medical Services in GA. They have a deductible, and once that is met, they pay for the meds until we recertify again the following year. It takes me about 4 months to meet the almost $600 deductible.
I hope this helps.
