Hi, I'm an 18 year old female with CF and the one thing I would like more than anything is to have a child. I know that all the books and stuff say women with CF can have babies I was wondering if there was any women out there who have and have some advice? I just worry that I will never b able to have children as I haven't managed to become pregnant whilst me and my partner were trying. I would like to do it while I am young and in fairly good health as I figure this will give me the best chances. I would love to hear from anyone who has had a child or knows of some encouraging stories!

hi i am 20 soon to be 21 with cf i also worry that i will not be able to have kids but some advise that i have gotton on other posts were to take robitussin the plain kind (not DM or CF) guaifenesin syrup apparentally a couple was trying to get pregnant for several years (wife with cf) and she heard to take this asked her doc and took 2 tsp. every 4 hours they got pregnant in 2 months. guess the mucus was too think so there is something to try good luck

You ladies might want to get your cycle day 3 FSH, E2, and TSH checked.. I found out at the age of 27 that i could not have kids due to Premature ovarian failure (early menopause). This is something that i actually had more early on then was detected. Yes I was at the time still having periods. Do everything you can to have a child now. Trust me i am one who suffers every day of my life due to waiting.

Hi my name is Tim and I have cf. I have heard and met a woman that has cf and she had 2 kids. Also I thought this was amazing I met her here in the hospital in the state where I live. The time I met her she was 32 years old. So don't give up there is a possibility you can have kids.
