for all you working/pumping moms, which pump are you using? i started out with the medela pump n style...it broke , so i got another one, it broke in the same spot (the place where you put the hose to suction) anyway, so instead of getting another one and it breaking i got playtex embrace AND IT HURTS! ....so wondering if i should give medella a 3rd try

I use the Purly Yours by Ameda, And I love it! it's a double pump, that comes in a nice stylish book bag, for travel, and a cooler. I can empty both breats in under 10 min. It's a bit pricy...between $170.00 and $200.00 But it was totally worth it for me, as I pump exclusively and bottle feed! I did my home work before investing in this, and know I made the right choice! Hope this helps.

i used a medela hand pump...it worked awesome. I was a little worried about doing it myself, but it wans't hard or tiring. I could empty both breasts in 10 minutes without any electricity

I use the Medela Pump in Style. I also use the hand pump it came with at times as well. LOVE it! I've had 4 different ones, this is by far the best for me. I've never had an issue with it breaking at all. Are you sure you aren't pushing or pulling at the hose attachments too hard?
I have the travel one, in the backpack, works on batteries or plug in. Empties both breasts in about 10 minutes and is super quiet. It's pricey though!!

Did you buy a whole new pump or just buy the piece? Mine little piece broke off but after 2 years! If I hadnt kept the hoses on it probably wouldnt have broke there. I just bought a replacement part. I work full time and it worked awesome!

Hi sunnydayz,
This may sound weird but if you really want to go back to the Medela, it might be what you need. I bought a used Medela pump at a consignment shop. You can buy new hoses and bottles if the idea of using someone else's is too strange.
Good luck.

You should be able to return the Playtex, if anything, they'll at least give you store credit. Be honest and tell them it's killing your boobs.
The Medela website is great for replacement parts, they are very helpful and quick in shipping out to you.

I only used Playtex Embrace and love it. For me, it doesn't hurt at all and it is actually quite comfortable. I guess it depends on the mom.
