We have a newborn with a G-tube. It works very well and you can feed her at night for extra calories. The only drawback is you can't use enzymes with it because they cannot fit through the connection at the button. Good luck

My daughter is 9 years old and she has had her feeding tube since she was 7. Believe me at the time it was a very hard decision to make - but, she needed the extra calories to help her fight infections.

Now when I look at it - it was the best thing we ever did. She has gained 22 pounds since she had the tube placed. I know that doesn't sound like much - but, believe me it has made a world of difference. She gets supplemental feedings at bedtime and she already manages the g-tube (mickey) herself.

It has cut her hospital stays way down. She has only had one CF exacerbation in 2 years requiring hospitalization - as opposed to every 4-6 months.

Good Luck
