Had a bridge (upper left 2nd molar) put in and am having a difficult time adjusting to the foreign object. No pain, just the feeling of misadlignment and some speech impediments. 5 weeks later it feels normal only when I chew gum or have food in my mouth.
Is this pychosomatic? or is there an explanation. When I have something in my mouth it feels like my tongue gets distracted from the bridge and all feels normal?...any help would be appreciated.

If you are striking that tooth when speaking, it is definitely too high and needs adjusted. You should not be able to strike back teeth when you speak. I am in the process of having a full occlusal adjustment because of many problems, one of which is striking molars when I speak. It can eventually lead to sore muscles and a lot of pain if this isn't corrected.
You are the first other person I have ever run across that has this problem!

It's pretty normal for dental work to feel strange to you. Whether it is just a bridge or a full denture, it is a prosthesis just like a prosthetic arm or wooden leg. It may take several months for your body and mind to begin to accept it as "self". It sounds like you are well on your way, though.
If it is causing pain or just feels "high", then you probably want to ask your dentist about it.
