I had a colpo/biopsy in January. The report came back with atypical cells, and could not rule out LSIL. I went in last week for my 6 month re-check
colpo/biopsy, pap. I don't have the results back yet....but I was told even if this one came back ok, I would need to repeat the colpo/biopsy in 6 months.
Has anybody come up clear on their colpo/biopsy re-check, only to find out 6 months later the atypical cells returned? Although the first two colpo/biopsies
were pretty much pain free, I'm not crazy about going through it again if this one turns up normal.

Hi - I've had a similar situation. A year ago, I had an abnormal PAP and had a colposcopy with some biopsies which came back as CIN I. Six months later, my PAP came back normal and I was very happy. However, six months after that, my PAP came back abnormal again - ASCUS but couldn't rule out LGSIL. I had another colposcopy and it came back slightly abnormal. The doctor said it didn't quite qualify as CIN I, but was not 100% normal either. My doctor said that I will need to have PAPs every six months until it is normal everytime for 2 years. She wants to just monitor it to make sure its getting better, or at least not getting any worse. Just stay on top of it. Keep going to the doctor and ask them questions. And I was told the only thing I can do to try to get over this was to boost my immune system. I'm taking a immune-boosting supplement 3 times a day and all I can do is wait out the six months until the next appointment. Best of luck to you!
