Just read the labels on food products, it says how many calories are in the food you are eating. If you are eating a fruit or vegetable, and of course they dont have labels, look online to see how many calories they hold.

Hi James4444 -

The best way is to buy a book which lists all the calories and carbs for just about every food you would ever eat. I recommend one called "Food Counts" - You can find it in any good sized book store. You will know when you find it - my paperback edition is 700+ pages..... It even lists all the foods from the "Fast Food Restaurants"....
The next thing you may want to do is keep a daily journal of exactly what you consume..... and make calorie/carb notations... :bouncing: :bouncing:
And last, but NOT LEAST, (take my advice on this one) - get on the Scale EVERY SINGLE DAY, in the morning after you wake up and shower......NO matter how MUCH you may have eaten the night before.... This is the secret to long term weight loss.... :) :) :)

Never overlook the FREE Department of Agriculture (USDA) site which is better than any book I have ever seen:

A good food scale that will weigh accurately in grams is an aide I couldn't do without!
