my period is a day late..i know that's kinda dumb to say, but i don't even have my usual signs that my period is to come soon, such as sore breasts. Usually at least 2-3 days before my period, my breats KILL. And now, nothing..i also usually cramp the same day i take off my patch, but sunday came and left, and i thought i felt something, but come wednesday, nothing yet, or anymore.
i know there's always a chance that you may miss your period, but holy jizz, i'm a very paranoid person.
i should probably go take a preg test to calm myself, but i can't really afford one right now, and shouldn't waste money so early and should at least wait until i start my patch again next sun. But i'm just so scared because i always use condoms, or most times use condoms along with the patch and wowowow i'm worried... :(
please give me words of comfort...

you're not pregnant...if you worry yourself like this every time your period is a day late you're not ready to be sexually active.
Condoms are 97% effective if used correctly and the patch is 99%, so you do the math.

you said most of the time you use condoms. Yes its 99% effective, but there's always that 1% chance. I'm not trying to scare you or anything, I'm just telling you my personal opinion. I was on the patch for quite awhile and i NEVER skipped a period, in fact mine were always quite heavy. I've never even skipped a period having been on bc for 5 years.
Take a Test and keep me updated! :)

Star shine everyone is different..You've never skipped a period but plenty of other women have. If its possible with the pill..im sure its possible with the patch. It also depends on your body. The patch altho is 99% effective maybe you should consider going on the pill..because the patch can possibly rip off or fall off without you knowing it.. if you use condoms with it you should be fine.. a day late isnt even considered late...wait another 2-3-4 days..if it doesnt come THEN buy a pregnancy test. In the mean time dont stress.

Thank you for stating that everyone is different, I am aware of this. As I also stated in the post, it was my personal opinion.
Try to go to a free preg. testing clinic if you have a means of transportation. I was on the patch for a very long time and you might want to consider switching to the pill. I personally trust the pill more just for the shear fact that I know it's going into my body and now I worry alot less :) Also I don't trust the patch b/c now they are saying that it doesn't work if you have high body fat where you place the patch, higher risks of blood clots, etc. To me it wasn't worth it. Is there a particular reason you decided on the patch instead of the pill, ring, shot?
