do vitamins alter the effectiveness of BC? I have just started taking Vitamin B as an energy supplement and I was just curious. Does anyone else know what could alter the effects besides Antibiotics?

There's no problem with vitamin B.
Drugs that may decrease the effectiveness of the pill include penicillin-class antibiotics (those generic names ending in -cillin), tetracyclines (those generic names ending in -cycline), barbiturates such as butabarbital and phenobarbital, rifampin, Dilantin, Tegretol, and griseofulvin.

I have found that antibiotics don't effect birth control. My doctor told me that they did a study recently in Austin and the only antibiotic that effected the pill was Rifampin. But yes St. John's wort has been said to effect it. But vitamins are ok they won't alter its effectivness.
