Can anyone offer advice/info on the length of their hyster recovery or what their doctor has advised?
I know that different types of hysterectomies run differing recovery time.
The one I am interested in finding out more info is a TVH - I need one, but am scared.
What activites were you prevented from doing and for how long?
Did you hurt bad and what type of pain med was prescribed?
THANKS in advance!

I had the TVH/BSO.. I was told it was a 6-8 week recovery..But the pain was very minimal, the endo hurt alot more than the hyst..I was given the pain pump after surgery for a day and night after that I went to 1 vicoden as needed.
I know I overdid things because I didn't hurt much, mostly just crampy. I didn't do any lifting or strenous work for 6 weeks but I proberly shouldn't of went to the casino a week after surgery..
I think my biggest complaint was feeling so weak the first week..My husband and daughter cooked and cleaned for the first 3 weeks, after that I started doing light duty.
Its normal to be scared before surgery, I was too. You will feel so much better when its over..
